Reblog: There’s something different about the 2017 pennies

2017 marks the 225th anniversary of the United States Mint.

In honor of this historic moment, the mighty little penny now bears its very own “P” Mint Mark for the first time ever in this penny series! Collectors will want to snatch these up for that reason alone!

This is exciting for coin collectors because historically when the Mint changes a coin’s design in any way, there is usually a greater chance for misplaced mint marks, or variations of mint marks, within the same year on the same coin.
